We protect cetaceans through public scientific research, education programs, and conservation actions.

Whales, dolphins, and porpoises (collectively known as ‘cetaceans’) enchant us with their grace, intelligence, and beauty, and have an exceptional ability to inspire people and serve as ambassadors for marine conservation.  Yet, these magnificent creatures face more threats than ever before - from entanglement in marine debris and fishing gear, ship strikes, noise pollution, climate change, ocean acidification, contaminants, to loss of habitat and whaling. We believe that the solutions to these and other threats facing cetaceans begin with education and scientific research.

"People protect what they love, they love what they understand and they understand what they are taught."
- Jacques-Yves Cousteau
